While Democrats lost a couple of seats in the Senate, the party managed to wrestle control of the House from the GOP during the 2018 elections.
House control, we’re told, often shifts parties during off-presidential year midterms. So practically no one at the time gave the shift from GOP to Democratic control in the lower chamber — the first time Democrats have controlled the House since 2011 — much thought.
Well, with the exception of blaming the House GOP losses on POTUS Donald Trump’s “unpopularity,” which is nothing new.
Then again, we were asked to believe our lying eyes and not various surveys indicating that the president’s polling numbers are not just high but higher than his predecessor’s approval ratings at the same time in his presidency.
What’s the disconnect? How could opinion polls and approval ratings have been so wrong again?
Enter Google and the Left-wing “establishment” media.
Months before the 2018 midterms, Google was found to be manipulating search results to harm conservative media voices and Republican-supporting pundits. In fact, according to revelations unearthed by The Daily Caller, Google engineers and marketing employees were conspiring as early as 2017 to censor search results to undermine POTUS Donald Trump’s first travel bans.
In March 2018, a researcher with the American Institute of Behavioral Research and Technology, Dr. Robert Epstein, released a study that found not only did Google and the other social media behemoths alter search results and ‘shadow ban’ conservatives, doing so could severely impact election outcomes. And since the big tech giants are all run by Left-wing fanatics, guess which candidates were going to be helped by the search results? Hint: Not Republicans. (Related: Google RIGGED search results and now faces a $7 billion fine from EU authorities.)
“I can tell you we should be paranoid because what Google and Facebook can do is really mind-boggling,” Epstein told Fox News host Tucker Carlson. “What Google can do is really off the scale. Our studies show that Google can take a 50-50 split among undecided voters and change it into a 90-10 split with no one knowing they had been manipulated and without leaving a paper trail.”
Was he right? Probably.
Epstein released additional findings this month in which he and his research team conclude that at least three congressional races in California were skewed to the benefit of Democrats. As for Google in particular:
Analysis of this data showed a clear pro-Democrat bias in election-related Google search results as compared to competing search engines. Users performing Google searches related to the three congressional races the study focused on were significantly more likely to see pro-Democrat stories and links at the top of their results.
At the same time, elected Democrats and their sycophantic supporters in the establishment media were hawking “Trump-Russia collusion” 24-7, non-stop on a daily basis for months ahead of the 2018 midterms. It’s hard to imagine the incessant harping about ‘how close Mueller was’ to laying the allegation bare and indicting the president did not have an effect on voters, given that there really is a faction of voters in our country who are “independent” and do not reflexively pull the lever for one party or the other.
But as we now know — officially — the narrative was a hoax. Special counsel Robert Mueller last week filed his mandated report on his near-two-year investigation with the Justice Department and said his team found no “Trump-Russia collusion,” yet this is all Americans heard on whatever news broadcast you turned on since the president was inaugurated.
The purposeful attempts to subvert our democratic electoral processes by social media and regular media constitute justification to hold new midterm elections. We won’t hold our breath.
